By and large, dictators, sultans, and presidents-for-life are assholes. Unimaginative, vindictive, and evil with a twist of imagination. But this made me laugh. Because overall they’re all retards, tremendously defective retards.
Not that I’m a big fan of our present leaders, or anything. They’re just dumb, but they’re not inherently bad people. Look at the link above and think about these shitty places: Belarus, Cuba, Burma, etc. Awful. One guy I knew went to Minsk and left after only six hours, saying the place just freaked him out. I’ve heard Cuba is an astounding shithole. Everyone who praises these people while ascribing all of the world’s ills to ‘Bush, Blair et al’ are retarded. Voluntarily.
Pinochet, the old dictator of Chile died this week. He was an asshole. He killed a lot of people. But he left office peacefully after a referendum in 1990something, and now Chile is the richest country in south america. I read some story about how Chileans were getting too rich and worried about moving away from their south american roots. I’m sure some starving indian in Bolivia would love to have that problem right now.
A real asshole (not mentioned above because he has no style at all) is Robert Mugabe. He took Zimbabwe, one of the wealthiest most successful ex-colonies in Africa, and destroyed it. Why? ‘Cause Robert Mugabe hates white people. Hates them. Didn’t like that they were successful farmers and stayed out of politics. So he kicked them out. And took their farms and gave them to his friends. Then there was a famine, everyone moved to slums in the city, and he destroyed those. Now the government can’t even issue marriage certificates, ’cause it can’t afford paper.
That’s an asshole.
We can complain about Bush, that he started a stupid war and that he’s dumb as a log. That’s true. But Bush’s enemies in Iraq, basically al-Qaeda and the Iranians, want to pull Iraq back into the stone age of religous totalitarianism. Then they want to re-create a 7th century religious dispute with each other, and try to wipe the other side out. I hope Bush wins.
As for the Czech Republic, still no government. But that’s no problem. The ‘non-functioning’ government of the Czech Republic is fighting for my rights, by unilaterally blocking a proposed tax increase on beer that the EU was pushing.
That’s my kinda government.
